Jumanji 2, is it Worth the Hype?

Jumanji: The Next Level, was a great sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The movie was not predictable, and it kept you laughing. It had all my favorite characters plus more that had contrasting dynamics, adding to the comedy of the movie.

Jumanji: The Next Level, is about a young adult that had been stuck in the game before. His character in the game made him feel confident and secure. After going off to college, he began to be unsure of himself and went back into the game to gain his confidence back.

When his friends noticed he didn’t meet them for brunch, they got worried and went looking for him only to find him back in the game. To help save him, they went into the game after him; but, things did not go the way they had planned.

The sequel began after the remake of the original Jumanji made in 1995. The first movie of the sequel was created in 2016, and then three years later, in December of 2019, Jumanji was released. Compared to the rating the original movie got, 54 percent on rotten tomatoes, Jumanji: The Next level, received a 71 percent.

The budget to make both movies were significantly different. The original film was given a budget of 65 million while the new Jumanji was given a budget of 132 million, there was also a significant difference in box office sales. Jumanji 2 made around 675 million dollars in sales, while the original only made 263 million.

I have seen all three of the movies, the original, the remake, and the sequel. One difference I noticed was the original film is rated PG while the remake and the new one are rated PG-13.

The second movie has more adult humor and innuendos that kids most likely wouldn’t get or shouldn’t see. Overall, I enjoyed the movie, it was not predictable, it was funny, and it put a smile on my face and many others watching the movie.

You can find Jumanji: The Next Level, on in theatres near you, I recommend seeing this movie if you want to have a good laugh. Better hurry before it is out of theaters!
